A workshop with Ranju Roy on:
"Vinyasa Krama based on the teachins of Srivasta Ramaswami."
28th November 2009 10am to 4pm
Yelverton Memorial Hall.
Srivatsa Ramaswami was a student of Krishnamacharya from 1955 until1988 shortly before Krishnamacharya's passing. In 2005 Srivatsa Ramaswami published The Complete Book of Vinyasa Yoga which covers in detail his own asana studies with Krishnamacharya. In this book, Ramaswami presents the application of asana, from simple sequences to very advanced and demanding postures (for more info see www.vinyasakrama.com)
In 2009, Ramaswami ran a series of workshops in the UK organised by Ranju’s friend and colleague Steve Brandon (www.harmonyyoga.co.uk). Ranju attended a week’s retreat which covered some of the essential Vinyasas which form the heart of this system of teaching asana. This day with Ranju will focus on some of what Ramaswami taught during this week’s intensive retreat. The day will be practice- based and accessible!
Ranju (www.yogamala.co.uk) has taught many workshops, retreats and courses as well as working extensively with individuals and group. In 2005 he began to work with Dave Charlton and started the 3 year Sadhana Mala Yoga Training Course which has just seen its first graduates and continues to go from strength to strength (www.sadhanamala.com)
